Gabriel Ofiesh
I like collecting pieces that have a tactile as well as
visual nature. Currently my favorite craft objects are
three smooth copper "rocks," each patinaed a different
shade of green, by Darlys Ewoldt. They have a
meditative quality and each rattles if you hold them in
your hand.

My favorite type of craft to collect is metal
or found object mixed media.

My love of jewelry started early in life when my
grandfather gave me a ring he’d designed for
my second birthday, followed by two neighbor-
hood boys who deposited costume jewelry finds
into my hands. Although I have pieces from the
spectrum of media and types of craft, I engage
with jewelry, ceramics and textiles the most on
a daily basis at home, and thinking about what
it all means and how to share it at work.
